today we hung out with the family.

we went swimming then went to keiko's.

my first time seeing a pregnant horse in real life

Ward Luau

we had our ward luau and it was tons of fun!

there was pig, pulled pork, turkey, hmong sticky rice, white rice, fruit salad, eggrolls, noodles, and tons of different desserts

the hmong performed one of their traditional dances

i loved their outfits

Marysville Peach Festival

today we went to the Marysville Peach Festival!

we're on our way there and michio parks the car at a taco place parking lot,

and gets out of the car

 we saw several people just walking past this lady.

she even said that she tried to wave down a cop car across the light and he didn't do anything.

what a good samaritan!

michio always wants to help people.

he would go into a burning building without hesitation! (he really would)

and he obviously didn't need anyones (my) help,

so i had to take a picture of my sweet hubby helping her

back to the festival...

it was pretty much just like the Strawberry Festival... just not as good. haha

the cool part was that it took place in old town marysville, 

so there was a lot of old houses and brick buildings

the only bad thing is we were walking around in 100+ degree weather...

speaking of peaches...

our peach tree has ripe fruit !!!

they are super juicy and very sweet!

Calling

i have been called to teach the ctr 5 class in primary . 

this past sunday, right after sacrament the primary president walks up to me with a folder and asks if i could teach that day.

i was kind of shocked of course but i was excited to meet the kids!!!

i had a class of 7, and that's not a full class.

the majority of them are very well behaved, and they all like to participate which is great!

there are a couple of kids in my class who have special needs.

one boy spent the last 10 minutes making fart noises non-stop.

i've been thinking of how i can get the kids with special needs more involved, and also how to get the kids that are too chatty to behave a little more.

so i got really excited and made a few things!!!

my initial thought was to bribe them with food of course... but we are not allowed to give the kids snacks because there are a lot of children in the primary who have food allergies .

it was the kids idea to have a treasure chest that would be full of prizes that they could earn if they had good behavior .

i made this board and basically they get a sticker for good behavior and once its full they get a prize!

this was for getting the kids with special needs more involved.

all of the names are velcro'd on so their names can move and everyone can take turns.

i am looking forward to starting this new calling

(and not going to relief society... hahha! jk... kinda)

i know it is going to give me valuable experience that i can use in the teaching field when i have my own classroom someday, so im looking forward to learning and becoming a better teacher!

Walmart

our walmart is the worst walmart i have ever been to !!!

the people are anywhere from country bumpkin, to white trash, to huntin hillbillies, to ghetto fab, to tweaker city . (i guess you can throw a few plain janes and nice people in there too)

we were there last week and michio saw a guy sneakin a beer that he stole into the bathroom.

today was our nephews bday party and we didnt have anything to bring,

so michio went to walmart to grab something for him.

this is his story in his words:

pull in to walmart parking lot and while pulling in i glance at Popeyes chicken a few times thinking hmmmmmn that looks good. Well next thing i know some tweaker is pounding on my passenger window asking what the eff im looking at and to get out of my car. keep in mind im in my church clothes and i never seen this dude in my life. So i pull over and jump out and dude is tweaked out cursing at me and i dont know what is going on! haahah long story short, i pushed him out of my face and he folded like some laundry! i wanted to smash his face in really bad but didnt have the heart to do it! im getting soft in my more mature age! Marysville walmart has some characters!!

 

Camping Galore !!!

michio and i left thursday morning and came back friday afternoon.

we took a trip by ourselves to a place called kyburz.

its about 30 mins closer then tahoe.

we really needed a break from school and being at the house.

we had such an amazing time together!

we may never have kids!!

ha just kidding... but we reallllly did enjoy spending all that time together and are planning on possibly going back next month =]

  we also took a much needed nap

after that we put our water shoes on and went rock hopping!

this little creek was absolutely beautiful!!!

we were exploring and found a waterfall !!

and of course michio had to fish in the hole under the waterfall

i was too scared to climb up there.

we forgot bowls... thank goodness we had mcdonalds for breakfast yesterday!

the last place we fished in the morning before we left was back at the waterfall

this little pool was at the top of the waterfall

we spent about 9 hours of fishing and hiking,

and a day and a half of marriage bliss!

we love being able to spend time with each other and to continue to create experiences where we can continue to grow and learn about each other.
