Craft Fair

a few weeks ago i have my first experience being in a craft fair!

i was really excited because I love to crochet

michio's oldest sister, keiko, also loves to craft and has been in a few craft fairs in the past,

so it was fun that she let me tag along!

our booth! 

i made the scarves and earrings and keiko made the rest!

michio made me this wonderful post to hang the scarves on

i also painted this

all in all it was a good experience...

even though i only sold one scarf and two pairs of earrings!!!

that part was pretty disappointing... lol

not to mention i made over 30 scarves... ughhh

BUT

we will be doing another craft fair in december so i'll just won't have to worry about making anything for the next one hahha

i did get lucky though.  

for my student teaching, i have a supervisor who bought 5 scarves and a colleague that bought one!

so it wasn't like i only sold one total (thankgoodness)

unfortunately, keiko didnt do to well either.

she only sold eggrolls and a few of her magnets

on another note, i have mentioned it to a few friends and family,

but michio has been realllllly sick for 3 weeks so far.

the first week started out with a fever that lasted 6 days.

a few days after the fever, he got bronchitis.

with all of that he was sweating, coughing, had chills, body aches, headaches, sore throat, and im sure a few other things.

at this time his dad came over to give him a blessing.

the next morning michio thought he was feeling much better and decided to go fishing...

wrong! he barely lasted 30 mins.

in his second week of being sick, after his fever finally left, he had a phantom foot injury.

he didnt know what he did, but the next morning he literally couldn't walk.

he would literally be crawling everywhere on his hands and knees cuz he couldn't even limp.

one morning he even sat on the couch and waited almost an hour for me to wake up so i could get the remote for him! lol

so he had this foot injury for a little over a week and is able to walk now, 

but his foot still isn't fully healed.

also, a few days after he got bronchitis, he was having a REALLY difficult time breathing.

i have never heard anything like it!

it was so sad =[

so ever since he has been using inhalers and a vaporizer breathing treatment several times a day.

and all this time that he's been sick he hasn't been able to work.

we don't have health insurance so he is not able to get a doctors note to exuse it.

we dont wanna pay a bunch of money just to get him checked out.

so michio talked to his supervisor and was advised to quit before they have to fire him.

so he quit.

literally a day after michio quit we got a letter in the mail from CalTrans (who michio has applied to work for) telling him that he has pretty much been hired.

so blessed!!

Caltrans is a state/government job that deals with maintaining highways majority of the time.

since it is a state job, they get great benefits and we'll be making almost $2000 more a month compared to where he was working before!

again, sooo blessed!

magically, yesterday was the first day that michio did not have to use his vaporizing breathing treatment...just in time for him to get started on this new job opportunity!!!

 today he had his pre-employment screening where they had to do a physical test, drug test, and filling out paperwork.

he will be hearing from them anywhere from a week to a month from today.

we will find out what area he will be working in and when he will start his training.

hopefully we find out sooner then later so we can get our thanksgiving plans all figured out!
